Some great content this week on the ramifications of the Affordable Care Act. If you’re not familiar with the nuts and bolts of Obamacare, click here for a great read on the key provisions that go into effect in 2014. Additionally, there are continued reports of a significant percentage of uninsured who are undeterred by the tax penalties of living with health insurance. Per a study by Bankrate.com, over 50% of people without insurance are unaware of the March 31 deadline to get covered and even more uninsured (70%) are unaware of the available government subsidies. Those are embarrassing figures when you consider the Obama administration will spend at least $684 million on a marketing campaign to educate the public about the Affordable Care Act. And if you don’t think the changes in healthcare will affect you – pay close attention to your bill next time you go out to eat.
